Every year, the cannabis industry gathers at MJBizCon, the largest cannabis business conference in the world. Like most things in 2020, this year’s event looks much different. In early October, organizers announced that the conference would move to a fully online event to comply with COVID-19 restrictions. While unfortunate, MJBizCon 2020 will still be the place for cannabis professionals to network, learn and get a glimpse of industry trends for 2021 and beyond.
CannaBusiness ERP by NexTec Group is proud to be an exhibitor at this year’s MJBizCon. We’re excited to showcase our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution built specifically for cannabis manufacturers, cultivators and processors and to meet with attendees to discuss the importance of software in the cannabis industry.
Here’s a list of what we’re looking forward to over the next few days at MJBizCon 2020:
1. Networking Events and Roundtables
After almost a full year spent in social isolation thanks to the pandemic, networking events and opportunities for insightful discussions with other industry professionals have never been more appealing. MJBizCon has set up daily events and roundtable discussions featuring industry leaders that include topics like “Achieving Equity in Cannabis” and “Connecting Women in Cannabis.” These one-hour networking events are sure to trigger some important conversations around the future of the cannabis industry.
2. Insightful Sessions
Many of this year’s general session topics are based around the uncertainty of the economy and how to best prepare for recovery post-pandemic. While the cannabis industry celebrated big wins this year in the U.S. election, it also experienced a few setbacks because of the pandemic. A few sessions we’re looking forward to are “CBD in a Global Recession” and “Preparing for Recovery: Lessons Learned to Move Forward Strategically.”
Another session we have our eye on is “Bringing CPG Marketing to Cannabis.” As cannabis continues to emerge as a new Consumer Packaged Good (CPG) category, the opportunities for manufacturers to take advantage of skyrocketing industries like the cannabis-infused market are infinite. We’re excited to learn how cannabis companies can translate CPG success to a highly regulated industry.
3. Focused Content for Industry Newcomers
The barriers to entry in the cannabis industry are high. From securing licenses to planning funding and understanding compliance regulations, it’s critical that newcomers have the tools in place to prepare for a successful start.
Apart from on-demand sessions targeted specifically for these industry newcomers, we’re hoping to demonstrate the importance of software for growing businesses. CannaBusiness ERP recently launched Essentials, an ERP solution for our growing cannabis customers. This pre-packaged solution built on our market-leading ERP for cannabis cultivators, processors and manufacturers of edibles and infused beverages is designed for growing cannabis companies looking to implement an integrated business software package for the first time. If you’re an industry newcomer looking to transition to industry-grade cloud ERP, check out our showcase at MJBizCon.
MJBizCon’s virtual event is taking place from December 2-4 and features over 60 sessions, 100s of new products from leading vendors and dedicated subject-level chat channels.
